Project: MAROONED

Well, Marooned is a Tower-Defense game spiced with horror elements, such as much of blood, gore

and explicit language. The point of the game is to die with as much scores as you can earn by killing monsters, and to believe in that you can actually make it alive to the end.

But it wouldn't be so easy if I hadn't supported you with this extensive Game Manual.

How to play:

As the picture shows, you are controlling a Bunker (only it's gun actually), using your mouse to position the crosshairs over the incoming scumbags and gun them.

Right under the Bunker are the Health and Armor bar, which shows how much damage you can take before the Bunker explodes.

To the Right Corner, you can see your Rank, and Experience gained by killing the enemies. More about ranks later below..

To the Left Corner, you can see your Ammo bar for your Main Gun, and for your Rocket- launcher, which is usually empty.

To the Left side of the screen, there are 3 Icons, these are the interface buttons for Minefield, Mortar and the B2 Stealth Bomber supports. Click on these to use them, or press their Quick keys on the keyboard for the same interaction.

What is what:

When you kill monsters, they not only die to give you some experience, they also drop useful Stuff sometimes.

These Items are as follows:

This one is the Health Stuff. Obviously, it heals the Bunker by a small amount of 25 HitPoints.

This is the Armor Stuff. Picking it up will grant you additional 25 Armor up to the maximum value of 100.

This is called the Experience Stuff. Hmm.. maybe that foe who just had been killed, was a bit overqualified for this..

Either way, it's knowledge is yours as soon as you claim it.

It's value is random, but the maximum of +1000 XP.

High-Explosive (HE) Bomb. Once you hit this one, it will aggressively explode, delivering severe damage in it's radius.. no, it's not affecting the Bunker's health.

Fire-Bomb is a really hot stuff. This one unleashes hell over those who dare living within it's radius. Burning monsters will die painfully, but pretty quick.

Radiation sure has it's side-effects.. This bomb actually radiates everyone in its radius, making the victims very slow and weak for a period of time.

Would you think that the undead can be poisoned? Well, they can be. Those, who are unlucky enough, to get this, will be dropped to a near-death level, and they will hardly wait for your mercy-bullet in their skulls.

Ranks:

Observing monsters while they are dying is a good way of your spiritual prosperity, isn't it?

Either way, every time you kill, you get experience out of it, and you advance in Rank as soon as you had gained enough experience under your belt.

With each rank, you obtain control over extra equipment, that are critical to extend the longevity of your survival.. not like you could avoid this process unless you don't kill anyone.

Here are the ranks you can achieve, and what you obtain:

Level 0: Conscripted - No badge
You can be happy to have your gun and a Bunker to sit in..

Level 1: Private
As a private, there are yet a lot to practice.. therefore you are given a huge ammunition-belt.

Ammo Capacity + 50 bullets per clip

Level 2: Corporal
After some practice, you realize how to reload your gun faster. Also you have prepared a bit more, so you have scattered some Sandbags around the Bunker to give them hard time hitting you.
Now that you are no more private, you can also fire some Rockets.

Rocket Capacity + 3 (Total 3)

Level 3: Sergeant
You have finally managed to master your gun. Your aiming skills have been increased, so you don't scatter your shots about the entire map randomly.
Also you get Barbed Wires around the Bunker, so incoming enemies will have painful experience of staying close to you.

Level 4: Lieutenant

Being such a responsible Soldier, you have now granted a Major Upgrade.

You get a better gun (Rate of Fire increase), Armor Shields (+100 Armor), Rocket Capacity + 2 (Total 5), and a Repairing Kit, so while you are shooting the dick-faces, the Bunker's base health slowly recharges.

Level 5: Captain
You suddenly learn how to squeeze out Bullets stronger from your gun, giving you permanently more damage. Also, with your rank, it's natural that you can influence combat strategy, so you get some Proximity Mines too.

Level 6: Major
If you liked the Minefield, you will love the Mortar Support, which is now unlocked, giving you a pretty devastating weapon. These guys fire HE bombs all
over the selected area on your call.
You also obtain a Health Indicator that increases your Health-Regeneration, and there is a Field Generator applied over the Bunker too, in order to provide energy for the Indicator.

Rocket Capacity + 5  (Total 10)

Level 7: Lieutenant Colonel
You have been assigned to high-tech testing. To prepare the very foundations for this, you get a Battery to your Generator for more power,
and the first experimental security equipment: the Tesla Shield.
Tesla Shield kills anything within it's range instantly with it's deadly electric shock, though only one-by-one and has some charge-up Time.

Level 8: Colonel
As Colonel, you are becoming more and more positive in attitude, looking at your quick success in your carrier.. Whatever you are doing, it's the best what can be done, and you realized that all Monsters have some extra Stuff on their bodies. As a proof of your Serendipity, by the Rule of Attraction you were also given control over the B2 Stealth Bomber Support, that drops Incendiary Bomb over the selected area for you.

Level 9: Brigadier General
It is really a very big responsibility that you have now. Because you are almost an adult Soldier, you can have the next high-tech Security Upgrade, which is a Sniper Drone over the top of the Bunker. This drone can shoot with pin-point accuracy and kills instantly. It's rate of fire is still questionable, but hey.. you can pay more attention to your successful carrier:

Your observation of the battlefield provides you more experience after each kill.

Level 10: Major General
You are almost perfect now, but you can't let others to see the very few times you miss with your gun anymore, so you were given a laser sight. This will further increase your aim, making your fire as accurate as a sniper, but you can do it with a chain-gun. In addition, you have as many rockets now, as you want, too bad that only a few hundred of them have room in the Bunker.

Level 11: Lieutenant General
Fresh, out of the labs.. you get your beautiful new weapon, a real plasma gun!

You have been waiting for this since BFG in doom, I know.

Though Plasma Gun have slower bullets, they burn enemies on impact and deals more damage too.

Level 12: General

No joke anymore. You are the ultimate Soldier, so you are given the latest Technology Advancement: a Microwave Emission Shield, which basically fries

your foes within your close perimeter.

You also get your weapon upgraded, so now it blasts on impact, burning everyone within it's blast radius.

Well done General, now you are ready to die as a perfect Soldier.
